Who I AM
People always asked me “how have you always known what you wanted to do”? My answer to that is “I don’t know? It was always there and felt really strong”. I always wondered how everyone else didn’t know what they wanted to do. After talking with enough people I realized that having this clarity of vision put me in a very small minority. I’ve loved music my entire life. All I ever wanted to do since I was old enough to remember was play drums, make my living as a professional musician, and use that as a vehicle to travel the world.
Fast forward to being twenty-nine and having a resume full of A-list artists and experiences to match but an internal lack of fulfillment. Why? Isn’t playing with that caliber and quantity of artists everything a musician would dream of doing and want more of? Isn’t playing in front of 60,000 plus screaming fans the pinnacle that musicians desire to achieve? It turns out that is only a partial truth. I decided to open myself up to the possibility that there was something beyond the horizon of my current path and awareness. I took a magnifying glass and questioned everything I thought to be true. This included identifying myself by what I do, being a musician.
I learned through this deconstruction process that everything and anything we want to create starts from within. If you feel complete, whole, and fulfilled inside then everything outside of you will mirror your inner state. When we feel incomplete, less than whole, and unfulfilled then we begin to see our world around us as less than perfect.
I am currently in the process of learning and discovering music all over again from a renewed excitement and enthusiasm to create. I am confronting all the areas within music that I was limiting myself and finding ways to shift and grow my facility in limitless ways. I’m seeking out the most efficient ways to deconstructing the barrier of the critical mind in order to gain access to the depths of the creative well that I feel is within everyone. My renewed path through music is one of a perpetual state of growth toward feeling fulfilled in life on and off stage and sharing how to achieve the same with others through Source Science Sound.
