What I’m Listing To: Old Dominion @olddominionmusic – New York At Night I’m a huge fan of this band. Old Dominion is comprised mostly of songwriters and masters of their craft. The creative use of wordplay and imagery in “New York at Night” is exceptional. It’s also supported by a great track. Click Here for a playlist of music of this week and previous sound bites newsletters Article I’m Reading : Coldplay to Pause Touring Until Concerts are ‘Environmentally Beneficial’ Habits can be a hard thing to shift. The music industry as a whole has a very strong habit and cycle of create music, make a record, tour to support that record, and then repeat. When Coldplay’s newest record came out, “Everyday Life” they did a streamed live concert from a rooftop in Jordan. Typically, an event like this would be to support not just the record but a tour as well. I felt really surprised and excited to read about their pursuits to carry the torch of change through shifting how they choose to tour. Video of the Hammond B3 History : Click Here to Watch What does an automatic shuffling bridge table and the Hammond organ have in common? Find out in this fantastic video that I came across on YouTube that explains the history of the Hammond organ and the company that built them. I found it especially interesting that Laurens Hammond, inventor of the Hammond organ created such an expressive musical instrument but didn’t know anything about music. Check it out. Charlie Puth Voice Notes Tour Live: Click Here to Watch I lost count of the amount of times I have watched this show. The balance between record parts and embellishment is so tasteful. You can really feel the energy of how everything came together perfectly for this performance. Life can feel really challenging at times, we feel like the muse just left and we don’t understand why life is a mess and caving in on us. Sadly, there is a lot of misinformation out there that quietly steers our minds further into the darkness and leaves us feeling hopeless and aimlessly searching for answers. The universe and life isn’t intending to be cruel. It’s actually there telling us exactly what we need. We’ve just forgotten how to listen and transform the information into constructive and empowering actionable steps. Jeans Fit For A Musician:
These jeans are the cutting edge of denim. They are the perfect blend of style and functionality. I’ve always loved the concept of raw and selvedged denim (for more info on Japanese selvedged denim, click here) I hung up my raw denim desires until I found KATO. Raw denim requires a break-in period where the jeans are restrictively tight, stiff, and not comfortable or functional. Kato forged new ground with the idea that comfort and selvedged denim didn’t have to be mutually exclusive. Through this idea, they birthed 4-way stretch selvaged denim. These are my favorite jeans I have ever owned. They have all the vintage appeal of high quality Japanese selvedged denim and were comfortable right off the rack.
Want your favorite pair of jeans to last a little longer?
Check out the Laundress’s denim kit and a how-to guide to get the most out of any denim you purchase
Drawbacks:
- Higher price point than your average jeans
- I found there to be inconsistencies in the fit of the same style and sizes. I would recommend finding a Kato stockiestand try a few pairs on or purchase multiple pairs online and return the ones that don’t fit.
- They don’t come in lengths so if you are not into cuffing your jeans you will have to get them tailored. Though, part of the style of selvaged denim is showing off the selvedge ID
Watch Music’s Profound Effect On People with Alzheimer’s
Alive Inside: A Story of Music and Memory:
Music can touch people in ways that we might never imagine or know. Have you ever had a thought and then go blank on what it was? Now imagine having Alzheimer’s and that void being your everyday reality. This film deals with the subject of people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and how music therapy reconnects them with their lost memories. This documentary is inspiring to say the least. It reminded me of the power music possesses and can transmit to a listener. It was amazing to watch music be the spark that reignited people’s memories as they came alive inside.
Quote:
“The person who overplays when the music calls for less shines more light on themselves and less on others. They equate that to be loud is to be seen.
The person who underplays when the music calls for more shines less light on themselves and more on others. They equate that to be quite is to be unseen.
The people who are present and dynamic with the music shine more light on themselves and others. They feel no desire to be seen. They are fulfilled before they play a single note.”
- Steve Sinatra

What I’m listening to:
Casey Driessen – 3D (@caseydriessen)
If you stay open, share and receive without limitation you can find gold in the least expected places. While in Bozeman, MT for a family wedding my partner Kerry, daughter Stella, and I took a detour to visit Melena Metnz, my partner’s Astrology teacher and mentor. Her husband Taner (@t_metz) shared a track with me off this record and it immediately captivated me. In taking a deeper dive into the record I found a cornucopia of old and new, electronic and acoustic, improvisation and structure. This record’s sonic palette is expansive but incredibly balanced simultaneously. Driessen blurs the lines between genres and forges a path that is uniquely his own.
Vibrational Frequency of This Record: 742

Clean Ingredient Laundry Products that Actually Work:
The Laundress (@thelaundress) – Click Here to check out the products
Even artists at the peak of their career still take the time and find tranquility in doing laundry. Check out the video of the cross-branding between John Mayer and The Laundress. The Pit Kit (Signature Detergent, All-Purpose Beach Alternative, Stain Solution, and a Brush) came as a recommendation to me from Alessandro Giannetti (@guidedlighthealing). When intuiting the level of effectiveness of this product it is a 9 on a scale of 1-10. After using the stain solution once with the appropriate technique I was blown away by the results.
Drawbacks:
The cost of the products are more but the extra cost for me is well worth having a product that I know is not harmful to me or my clothes
The products are predominantly available online and not something that you can run out and get quickly at your local store but they offer subscription programs as an alternative so you don’t have to deal with it every time you need to purchase more
Quote That I Love:
“The fact that there is a highway to hell and only a stairway to heaven says a lot about expected traffic”
- Deborah Silverman
My Business:
Source Science Sound– Helping musicians, bands, and artists do what they love and love what they do. Even in pursuing what I loved in life it still left me feeling unfulfilled. I also know through years of talking with many of you that I’m not alone. Why does this happen? I’ve concluded that no matter what we pursue in life if we are not happy and fulfilled from within first, then anything we give our time and energy will be colored by our unfulfillment. Unfulfilment is the result of internal imbalance. Like a movie projector, any internal discontentment is projected onto our external experiences from the inside out. Our outside world is merely an effect of all of our combined thoughts, actions, and emotions we’re constantly feeling inside. By recentering yourself from within, the world outside of you will change automatically. What will this result in? People being magnetized to you when you walk in a room, it will lead to more gigs, standing out in auditions, feeling encouraged instead of discouraged to practice your instrument or given trade more, better relationships with the ones you love, and a renewed love for music and life. If you feel you are struggling through life’s obstacles and want to know how to overcome them in a way that is simple, streamlined and will shift your life in the most amazing ways please reach out to me. Do this by replying to this newsletter for more information about private sessions or ways I can help. Experience what others think isn’t possible in career, finances, and relationships. I will work with you or your bands to find a way to break through whatever your obstacles are and help you reconnect with the passion for music and life.

Incredible Ted Talk Video That Had Me in Tears
Victor Wooten : Music As A Language
Here is the write up from youtube…In Music as a Language Wooten makes the case for learning music in the same way as we learned our first language, calling for a more natural, less academic approach. He makes the point that, as babies, we weren’t taught our first language or corrected when we made a mistake. We didn’t even know we were beginners and got to ‘jam’ with people much better than us. Wooten draws on his own musical education as an example of how taking this approach can deliver great results.
Favorite Long-Standing Trail Mix : Perfect Balance
After learning how much more I enjoyed the taste of anything that was sourced with local ingredients I have gravitated toward products that met this criterion ever since. The quality of ingredients and the perfectly balanced recipes (just as the company name states) is what sets this trail mix apart from all the others. Perfect Balance uses a blend of organic and raw ingredients that significantly enhance the taste over all the other trail mixes you could purchase. I love even your basic trail mix but if you are looking for something that is next level, give this a try. It’s been three years since I found The Perfect Balance and I still haven’t found a trail mix for me that tops it. All three of the blends they do are fantastic but Gold was the one that got me hooked.
Drawbacks:
It’s a small company and can only be purchased in-store at select locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii.
If you don’t live in one of the four states mentioned above you have to order it through their website which takes more effort and time but will make the pay-off that much sweeter
Due to the quality of all the ingredients, the product price point is much higher than the average trail mix at $9.00 for a 10oz bag
Video That Really Struck a Chord With Me
The Making of In-Repair by John Mayer
Watch as John Mayer, Steve Jordan, and Charlie Hunter confront the challenge of walking into the studio with nothing and walking out with what ended-up being “In Repair” on the Continuum record. I feel this an amazing representation of great musicians unifying at the highest levels of creativity and the results of that.
Quote I’m resonating with that speaks to my current feeling of how language can be limiting
“The contradiction so puzzling to the ordinary way of thinking comes from the fact that we have to use language to communicate our inner experiences which in its very nature transcend linguistics”
- T. Suzuki

Take A Listen…
Joe Pass- I Remember Charlie Parker
Arturo Sandoval- Dear Diz (Everyday I Think Of You)
The Night Game- The Night Game
I’ve been listening to a lot of new music in the last few weeks. Listening to new music is an amazing way to expand your musical repertoire and vocabulary. It also really helps deepen your creative well and have more to draw on when creating and performing. I attribute a big part of my diverse and perpetually expanding musical catalog to my first drum teacher John Yarling. He would send me home every week with four or five cd’s that I never heard before. As part of my homework, I would listen to every track on every cd once through. He said “I don’t care if you love it or hate it, just listen to it”. At times this was really difficult, like when he sent me home with Ponga. Other times it was music to my ears, like the first time I heard Simon Phillips play drums on the record Tambu by Toto. Still one of my favorite bands to this day. It’s the music that I was uncomfortable with and took me to the edge of what I felt was palatable that helped me grow the most as a musician. Listening to music in this way helps me experientially find an increased balance between being subjective (partial minded) or objective (even minded) and helped me stay open in hearing and absorbing everything the music has to offer.
For this newsletter, I decided to do as my drum teacher did for me and invite you to listen to these five records top to bottom once and see what you can extract out of it. Remain as objective as possible. See how you feel during and after listening. Look for the favorable and not so favorable qualities about the music and see if you can find a balance between the two. This might be challenging to name qualities you don’t like for the music you do like and qualities you do like in the music you don’t like. That is the intention of the exercise. This will help bring the awareness that all qualities exist in all music while simultaneously spotlighting your preferences by how the music makes you feel and what you gravitate towards.
I use to spend countless amounts of money on cd’s but now with the advent of streaming and youtube, you can listen to all the music listed for free. You could also choose to listen without advertisements for a monthly fee. I pay $9.99 a month for premium Spotify. It’s an amazing value for the access to seemingly endless quantities of music you receive in exchange.

Hello,
This is the fifth installment of Sound Bites.
Sound Bites- quality information in bite-size pieces is for anyone in or associated with the music industry who is in the pursuit of quality in all areas of their lives. I have received great praise throughout my life for my ability to find the most accurate, succinct and quality information pertaining to products, experiences, fun facts, you name it. With my affinity for research and the ability to compile the best of the best out there, I feel compelled to share my wealth of knowledge. I feel there is a big misperception regarding the financial status of people on stage or in other arenas of the music industry. People think if you’re on stage, you’ve “made it” and are making lots of money. In most cases this is a skewed perception of the truth. There are countless stories of extremely talented artists and musicians being financially taken advantage of by someone. Like a relationship if you don’t prioritize money it’s not going to choose you and will go to someone else that will. In your day to day choices are you putting energy into prioritizing money? Examples: setting money aside for savings, taxes, and asking if the purchase you’re making is actually serving you in moving toward your larger goals? Beethoven or any great composer had to learn the fundamentals, like reading and writing music, long before they composed any of their masterpieces. The foundational understanding required to grow and sustain a balanced relationship with money is the same as having a mastery in music or any area of life. You have to crawl before you can walk and walk before you can run. If you try to run before you learn how to crawl and walk, write a symphony before you know how to read or write music, or manage a large amount of wealth before you can manage a small amount you are going to fall flat on your face. At the least you will be stumbling every step of the way until you can make the micro adjustments that will stabilize you moving that fast. Without an understanding of the fundamentals of wealth management or actionable steps toward learning about wealth management the money will slip right through your fingers.
All the decisions you make financially are a delicate balance between your thoughts, actions, and emotions. If any one of these are out of balance it will yield an imbalanced result. Just like when playing music you have to be “in the pocket.” That sweet spot where all the musicians performing are in the groove. When all the parts that make up the whole are in alignment the results are amazing. Think about all the connection points and people that have to all be wired together and unified in order to make a show come off without a hitch. It’s mind boggling but people do it every night. That big show that you are either playing in or paid your hard earned money to go see started out with one cable. It’s difficult for people to observe that small decisions, compounded, like looking for free parking, and having one less drink, are what lead to the financial freedom you actually desire. Make the best investment you possibly can, in yourself and check out the resources in this newsletter and my previous newsletter,Sound Bites #3, and take your first step toward being financially sound.
Most resources are one dimensional or paint something to be black and white when the truth is much more multifaceted. As I continue to search these are the some of the best tools and resources that have helped me take the largest steps forward on my path toward financial freedom.
The Most Thorough Book I’ve Found On Wealth Building:
How to Make One Hell of a Profit and Still Go to Heaven
There are a lot of books out there on money. It’s hard to know which ones actually have the information that is going to help you breakthrough whatever financial barrier or obstacles you are currently confronted with. What makes this book different from the rest? It’s inclusive of everything you need to make a change in your life that is going to yield results. It offers the complete formula starting with the energetic principles all the way to the grounded actions. A lot of other information out there doesn’t address one or more pieces that I mentioned earlier in the newsletter. This book addresses energetic/emotions, mental/thoughts, and the physical/action aspects of wealth building. It’s also scalable and offers room for financial growth no matter what your current financial state is.
Drawbacks:
- Feeling overwhelmed in learning all the misinformation we have been taught or told throughout our lives regarding money
- Setting time aside to read the book and process all the new information in order to convert it to habitual actionable steps and see results
How I Turn Myself Into a Money Magnet Literally:
Studbaker Metals- Copper Money Clip
The energy of money is a powerful magnetizer. How we feel about our financial state has a strong impact on whether we are attracting or repelling more wealth. When we are emotionally in alignment with abundance, we attract more of it. As part of my everyday carry items I keep a day’s wage of a realistic yearly salary I’m working toward in a Studbaker money clip. This is also talked about in the book mentioned above. How to make a Hell of A Profit and Still Go To Heaven. I keep it on my person and never spend it. This physical representation of abundance and the correlated emotions in the form of cash helps remind me of how limitlessly abundant we actually are. In the end any money clip will do but, if you are looking for the high level of quality that I seek and support I would recommend Studbaker Metals. Studebaker Metals uses classic methods and the highest quality materials to hand forge products intended to last a lifetime.
Drawbacks:
- Higher price point as a result of the quality materials and labor intensive process
- Some products are made to order so it might be a longer waiting time between ordering and receiving the product than other companies

Music I’ve Been Listening To:
Ellen Andersson Quartet- I’ll Be Seeing You : ‘S Wonderful
My Everyday Backpack:
Triple Aught Design – Axiom 18
A well thought-out and meticulously designed backpack is an incredible tool. When NASA launches something into outer space every detail is taken into consideration. Why? Because the stakes are exceedingly high while tolerances and margins for error are very low. Triple Aught Design might not be launching rockets into space but they are putting the same degree of detail and consideration into their products. In engineering circles, “000,” or “triple-aught” refers to the three zeroes found in 1/1000th-inch tolerances — or rather, the gold standard for manufacturing precision. Any company with an eye for that degree of detail and a passion for military-spec is the perfect recipe for products that are nothing short of bulletproof. The Axiom 18 backpack has been my everyday carry for a little over a year and I am still over the moon about it.
Every backpack is not a good fit for everyone but I feel that everyone could benefit from a good backpack. If you don’t feel this bag is the one for you but want to find the one that is, check out Caryology. This is the best bag blogger I’ve found and they have bag research on lockdown.
Cons:
- The laptop compartment is a snug fit for my MacBookAir. If you carry a laptop that is larger than a 13” I would recommend considering the big brother the Axiom 24which the website says can accommodate a 15” laptop.
Most Effective Dog Collar I Have Found:
The Halti headcollar was recommended to me by a phenomenal dog trainer named Matt Bisner @mattbeisner. He is the owner of The Zen Dog @thezendogla and is leading the pack on cutting edge training techniques.
If you take your animal companion on two moderate walks every day for twenty minutes you are walking over eight hundred miles a year with your dog, but who is walking whom? The contributing factors that lead to a balanced and relaxed walk in my experience go much deeper than any physical product can offer. Our animal companions are a direct reflection of our energy. Energy is the one language that every species on the planet speaks. If we are engaging with our animals when we are out of balance they are going to mirror this to us, regardless of any harness or collar we put on them. Because of the energetic variables in the equation I’ll go on record and say there is no fix all product out there. However, a great product like the Halti OptiFit Headcoller can be an extremely effective tool that can help temper your dog’s tendency to pull and support any internal work you do. This will bring you one step closer to a more balanced walk with your dog.
I would recommend pairing it with the Halti Training Lead. I like the Halti training lead the best for it’s versatility and flexibility of use. I have also used the OptiFit with a variety of other leads and all of them paired without any issue.
Pros:
- Better control over the walk giving you the confidence to remain relaxed and balanced on your walks which your dog will sense and respond to
- Small, compact design unlike a lot of other harnesses on the market
- Great value for your money at a price point of around $13.00
Cons:
- The process of putting on and taking off the lead is more involved than a standard dog lead and there might be an adjustment period for you and your dog.

I’ve concluded that no matter what we pursue in life if we are not happy and fulfilled from within first, then anything we give our time and energy will be colored by our unfulfilment.
Please give me feedback by replying to this newsletter or messaging me on Instagram. Which sound bite did you resonate with most? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Let me know! You can also send a message to @sinatra_sound and put #SoundBites at the end.

Hello,
This is the third installment of Sound Bites.
Because I value your time, the intention of this newsletter is to share my findings with you on a routine basis in digestible and curated morsels. Check out this week’s findings below!
Music I’ve Been Listening To: What You Don’t Do : Lianne La Havas @liannelahavas
Website I’ve Been Frequenting: The Balance
If I had a nickel for every-time I was confused about finances, banking, budgeting, mortgages, investing, taxes, IRAs, HSAs, 401Ks, credit cards, debt reduction, insurance etc…I feel like I’d be a millionaire. The Balance has been a wealth of knowledge in my pursuit of financial growth. This website has been the best single source I have found to help further my pursuit of financial awareness and financial freedom. In addition to The Balance, which is personal finance focused, they also have a sister site, The Balance Small Business. Both of these sites have been worth every penny of my time. Weather you feel you are in-balance or out-of-balance with money I would bet my bottom dollar that the majority of you feel you have room for financial growth. This website can arm you with the information and actionable steps to break through whatever financial barriers you are currently confronted with.
App I’m Using Everyday : Veryfi– Expense Tracker and Receipt Capture
Veryfi streamlines expense tracking in a way that makes this an app I use everyday, multiple times a day. Expense tracking, receipt scanning and budgeting apps are a dime a dozen. They all fell short for me until I found Veryfi. The feature that really set it apart from it’s competitors are: it scans and processes the receipts in 3-5 seconds (This is largely do to the OCR scanning technology), the categorizing and processing of the data options, and their customer service. Veryfi also has a sepreate logbook app that pairs easily with the Veryfi expense tracker. I occasionally have technical issues with the app but their customer service has been top notch and has always sorted it out. They have a free 14 day trial as well as being able to schedule a free one-on-one demo to help you get jumped stated. For tracking receipts and expenses this app is the best I’ve found.

Come get a tune-up. We tune our instruments on a daily basis to make sure all the parts of the instrument are resonating in harmony with each other. We do this so the instrument will perform optimally. How much are you tuning up your life? Sometimes it can feel difficult to gain clarity on the obstacles we are confronted with in so many areas of life. Relationships, financial, and vocation to name a few. Left unaddressed we carry that weight around with us creating blocks. As a result, we feel discord in our lives. This can show itself as feeling uninspired, feeling disconnected in how we create and perform in music or even as sickness and disease in our physical bodies. Don’t let this weight weigh you down any longer. Invest an hour and fifteen minutes of your time to unpack the baggage you’ve been carrying around and make a change. Together we will shed light on whatever your obstacles are. With clarity of understanding and actionable steps, you will leave resonating at a higher vibrational frequency than when you came in. Maximize your creative potential on and off stage and get back in-tune with the music of life.

Next Level Converse Chuck Taylors: Chuck Taylor ’70 Sneakerboots with Gore-Tex
What happens when you take gore-tex outdoor shoe technology and combine it with one of the most classic shoe styles of all time? The result is the Converse Chuck Taylor ’70 Sneakerboots. This pair of shoes is the perfect balance of style and rugged functionality. The gore-tex is the magic ingredient of these special edition Chucks. It makes this pair thrive when others just get by. The biggest pitfall I have found with every pair of Chucks I have owned is how they handled adverse weather conditions. I have put the gore-tex pair through their paces- I’ve submerged them in puddles and had food debris, latte, and smoothie spilled on them at my part-time job at Cafe Gratitude. This pair took everything I threw at them in stride. The best part about these shoes is when they got wet from walking in the rain. They practically cleaned themselves and kept my feet dry at the same time. The cost for these sweet kicks is double what you would pay for a regular pair of Chucks, but for more than double the value in durability and rigidity it is hugely worth the price.

Music I am Revisiting: Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by WHAM!
This track has a feel-good vibe that permeates the whole body and makes you want to move. From baby mix tapes my aunt made me to the age of digital streaming I have heard this song a lot- more times than I care to count. After listening to a song so many times, my ear begins to hear and focus on different details of the music I didn’t previously notice. When I tuned into the bass playing, my ears perked up like a young guitar player hearing Jimi Hendrix for the first time. The bass line captured on this track was the kind of lightning in a bottle that would make anyone listening be on the edge of their seat with excitement. As a result, I wanted to dive deeper to learn more about who was behind the bold bass licks. His name is Deon Estus (Twitter @DeonEstus). I was not surprised when I learned that he was the understudy of the late, great Motown bass player James Jameson (click here to listen to his playing). Give this track a listen if you’ve never heard it or revisit it to see if you’re pickin’ up on what Deon is layin’ down.
Product I Use Every Day: Roost Computer Stand : (Click Here To Purchase)
It is no accident that this product raised over one million dollars for its Kickstarter campaign. When it comes to my computer set-up I like the flexibility and portability of a laptop. I also like looking at a desktop screen because I often catch myself hunching over my laptop. The Roost laptop stand is the perfect blend of both. This computer stand combined with a full-size keyboard and mouse gives me the experience of a desktop computer while still having the flexibility of using a laptop. Don’t have or want to purchase a keyboard or mouse? The other surprise use I discovered about this stand- it is perfect for watching your favorite movies or TV shows on your laptop. It works flawlessly in a variety of places; in the bed, on the ottoman of a couch and on top of my rack case. You could also couple it with a Bose soundlink mini or another Bluetooth speaker. This is an impressively satisfying experience with such a minimalistic set-up. It packs down to the footprint of a closed straightening iron that stores easily in my backpack wherever I go. The Roost computer stand is the best in its class and is an integral piece of my favorite computer set-up I’ve ever had.
Bonus: The show that brought me to testing this stand in every room of my apartment: Sense 8
Favorite In-Ear Monitor(IEM)/Headphone Case:
Jerry Harvey Audio Signature IEM Case
This case is one of the best small purchases I have ever made. As a professional musician in-ear monitors have been an everyday carry item for me for sixteen plus years. Having a case that withstood the rigors of the road was the difference between damaged in-ears and still using the same pair I purchased sixteen years ago. The pelican case that came with my in-ears could probably survive an apocalypse but was bulky for the size of its contents. I knew there had to be another case out there that didn’t sacrifice rigidity while simultaneously shrinking the footprint. The Jerry Harvey IEM case has all of these features in spades. It is made of dimondyzed aluminum and is the size of a hockey puck with a little added thickness. This case was monumental in regaining some of the internal real estate of my backpack. The experience of taking out and putting away my buds is music to my ears as a result of this purchase. Whether you are carrying around in-ear monitors like me or any type of ear-bud headphones, this might be the last case you ever need to purchase.
Website I’m Enjoying: Expert Boxing
This website really helped me learn and understand as world-renowned coach Freddie Roach @freddieroach would say “The sweet science of boxing.” Between the website and complimentary YouTube channel, it covers every aspect of boxing. This website knocked me out with its vast amount of knowledge and helped me step into the ring with a balance of confidence and humility. It taught me about the sport and how to avoid or limit the rookie mistakes. From finding the right gym and gear to technique and nutrition optimization, Expert Boxing is a wealth of in-depth information. The articles are lean with high-quality content while still being incredibly thorough. If you are looking to learn about boxing, this is the best reference source I’ve found.

Hello,
If you are receiving this newsletter, our paths have crossed at some point and I felt this information could serve you.
I have been away from music for a while. Some of you I have connected with more recently but many of you I haven’t connected with in a long time. During this time away, I have ventured down a variety of roads leading to some of the most incredible growth and experiences to date of my entire life. These experiences have included but are not limited to relocating to Los Angeles, becoming a father, becoming a teacher at the Guided Light Healing School, becoming an entrepreneur, a lot of reading and researching about the areas of life I knew little about and a greatly expanded awareness of ways to access the full potential of this human experience. Why did I do all this? Because I knew on a visceral level that I had more to offer people. I knew if I stayed on the path I was on I was going to be limiting myself and how I could support and serve others. All of these pursuits have led to the creation of Source Science Sound and Sound Bites.

Music I’ve Been Enjoying: Takes All Time : Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles feturning Robert Randolph @coryhenry
Favorite Health Conscious Item:
Oatly Oat Milk : Click to see where you can find it near you
I have bought and tasted so many different kinds of milk. Everything from regular cow’s milk, goat’s milk, a variety of nut milk alternatives, and I even made my own almond blend for a while. Oatly Oat Milk is the perfect blend of health, taste, and convenience. This brand NAILED IT! I can’t recommend this enough.
Bonavita Digital Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle: A lot of items have come and gone in my kitchen in the last two years but this one has remained. I love tea and if you really go deep with tea you know or will learn that the brewing temperatures and times can be critical in getting that perfect steep. This is what led me from boiling water on the stove to a digital electric kettle. The digital display gives you the ability to view, adjust, and set the water tempature in one-degree increments. It is also a mess-free way to boil water for quick meals like oatmeal or ramen noodles.
Book I’m Revisiting: Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown
I came across this book in a blog of one of my favorite places to shop Huckberry. This book completely shifted my way of thinking by helping me prioritize decluttering my life, which most importantly starts with decluttering your thoughts. Prompted by questions presented in this book, I have gained a deep understanding of what I value most and tools to streamline my life to align with what truly matters to me. This is a book I revisit often and find new insight every time I choose to pick it back up.
Product I’ve been Enjoying:
Squatty Potty (website) : This product has gained a lot of popularity and for good reason! I have eliminated so much more easily and effortlessly since I started using this product. It felt like another gimmick but the science proves otherwise. When you sit on the toilet you are positioning your body in such a way that creates a kink in your colon, kinda like pinching a garden hose. When you use the squatty potty it raises your knees above your hips recreating the squatting position. This is the most optimal position to straighten out your colon and allows for improved elimination.
Bonus: Still a little gun shy? Try these tricks first. After you have gotten comfortable on the toilet and you are ready to eliminate bring your chest down to your knees and hold that position until you have released everything. This achieves a similar position for the colon in a different way. Or, use an old stack of magazines to elevate your knees above your hips. You can’t make this shit up
